Abstract

1354323 Packaging sheet material ILFORD Ltd 1 June 1972 [1 June 1971] 18294/71 Addition to 1258655 and 1253204 Heading B8C A method of packing a stack 2 of flexible sheet material, e.g. light sensitive material comprises positioning four corner pieces 4 of relatively strong material so that each embraces one of the four vertical edges of the stack and extends along and embraces the adjacent side edges of the stack at right angle to the plane of the sheet material, placing the stack into a rigid box 6 having six faces and lightly closing the box, means being provided in the closed box for urging each of the pieces towards each other against the stack of sheet material. As shown, the means for urging the comer pieces towards each other are springs 5 of plastics material provided on the corner pieces. In other arrangements, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), polyurethane foam (11) is secured internally of the box adjacent its corners or to the corner pieces. Alternatively resilient strip material may be wound about the edges of the stack. The stack may be enclosed in a light-tight folder.
