A photographic masking frame for use in projection printing comprises a flat bed plate 1, two adjacent edges of which are formed as guide rails 2, 3. Along these guide rails slide flat strips 4, 5. Strip 4 is undercut so that strip 5 can slide beneath it. Bed plate 1 may have a surface of magnetic material, and strips 4, 5 may have magnets 11, 14 set into them at their ends. The inner faces of both the guide rails 2, 3 and the strips 4, 5 are undercut, so that a photographic sheet may be located between the four undercut faces. The sheet is first places in the corner between rails 2, 3, and then strips 4 and 5 slid against it so that it is located firmly in position. The undercut surround thus produces a margin of even width.
