Abstract

1353270 Sofa beds SENG CO 18 Sept 1972 [1 Oct 1971] 43138/72 Heading A4J In a sofa bed of the type described in Specification 1273397, means is provided to vary the inclination to the horizontal of the bed sections in the sofa condition. The means includes a pair of brackets 40 secured one to each of a pair of front links 25 of the folding mechanism, and a stabilizer bar 44 which is adjustably connected to and between the brackets 40 and serves to support the front of the main bed section 30 in the sofa condition. The bar 44 is provided at its ends with a pair of integral parallel arms 43 freely pivoted, at 42, to the brackets 40. Each arm 43 is locked to its associated bracket 40 by a bolt 47 engaged through a hole in the arm 43 and through any one of a plurality of holes 45 in the bracket 40 disposed at a common radius from the pivot 42. The vertical disposition of the bar 44 is thus adjustable.
