1352831 Safety containers; container closures F J TOWNSEND 2 July 1971 [26 June 1970] 31052/70 Headings B8D and B8T A safety container comprises a bottle 20 having a number of flexible fingers 12 fixed to a slot 22 in the rim of the bottle. The cap 30 is provided with an open tube 31 and to remove the contents, the tube 31 may be used to push the fingers back, as shown in Fig. 4. A removable wad (32) (Fig. 3, not shown) may be inserted in the cap 30 for sealing purposes. The fingers are joined initially by thin webs to provide a tamperproof feature. The fingers 12 may be formed integrally with the container, and as a further safety feature, the tube 31 may carry a lug co-acting with a notch in the orifice, or both tube and orifice may be oval in crosssection.
