Abstract

1350410 Electro-phoretic coating of colour television display screens PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 9 Dec 1971 [12 Dec 1970] 57282/71 Heading C7B [Also in Division H1] A layer of carbon or manganese dioxide is electro-phoretically deposited on an aluminized phosphor screen 1 of a colour television display tube using as electrolyte a suspension 11 of carbon or manganese dioxide in a non-conductive hydrocarbon liquid, and using a colour television display tube shadow mask 9 as counter-electrode, and the potential difference between the tube and the mask is maintained whilst the suspension is separated from the deposited coating, e.g. as shown, the support 2 is rotated about hinge 4 to empty the suspension from the screen.
