CONSTITUTION:In a liquid crystal display device wherein transparent substrates 1, 2 consisting of, for example, glass plates, vapor deposited or coated with transparent electrodes 3, 4 on the inside surfaces are disposed oppositely a dynamic scattering effect type liquid crystal material 7 and spacers 6 are inserted between the electrodes 3 and 4, and a sealing member 5 for preventing the outflow of the material 7 to the outside is provided on the circumference between the substrates 1 and 2, the spacers 6 which maintain the spacing between the electrodes 3 and 4 uniformly and are made by solidfying transparent or opaque powder of, for example, glass fibers with frit glass are provided like patterns of a scale.
