Abstract

1349121 Stamping presses BUDD CO 28 April 1971 [29 April 1970] 11973/71 Heading B3Q At each operation of a metal-forming press a predetermined amount of lubricant is discharged, into a chamber bounded by the members of a die set, from a plurality of nozzles. As applied to stamping sheets 20, the nozzles 36 are located in an upper clamping member 16 and a switch for controlling a pump supplying the lubricant is closed by part of the press just before the clamp 16 engages the sheet 20. The pump may be stopped after a pre-determined time, or the flow to the nozzles may be metered and a metering control (8), Fig. 4 (not shown), used to stop the pump.
