Abstract

1345085 Grinding SCHWERMASCHINENBAU-KOMBINAT ERNST THALMANN MAGDEBURG VEB 26 July 1972 34968/72 Heading B3D An apparatus for de-burring a billet, tube, bar or the like 1 comprises a grinding unit 4 which is displaceable in the direction of the length of the billet and has two or more grinding wheels each mounted at an angle inclined to the length of the billet. The billet is moved along rollers 2 and secured in a clamp 3 with the end 6 facing the unit 4. The unit can be advanced by mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic means towards the billet under the control of valves or springs and has a pair of inclined wheels 5 rotatable in opposite directions by a motor through gearing or an hydraulic drive, which motor may also rotate the grinding unit so as to remove the burr from the billet.
