Abstract

134,488. Marsh, C. May 6, 1919. Tyre and like inflating-valves. - A tyre-valve has a right-angled casing with the valve mounted in the horizontal member. In the form shown, the radial member B is internally threaded to screw on to the ordinary valve stem from which the valve member has been removed, a packing f comprising solid rings alternating with elastic material held in position by a lip a<5> being provided to make a tight joint. The member may be internally threaded, or secured by a nut rotatably mounted on it, or it may be fixed directly to the tyre. The valve member D is pressed to a seat at the inner end of the horizontal arm by a spring g arranged in a recess formed in a removable cap A<2>. In a modification, the horizontal member is shaped to receive the valve member removed from the ordinary stem.
