Abstract

1343564 Apparatus for cleaning glasses H REMIH 6 April 1972 [28 Feb 1972 (2)] 16028/72 Heading B8T Washing housing 1 has an inlet orifice 7, outlet 12, and outer and inner washing brushes 4, 5 respectively. When an inverted glass is placed over brush 5 valve rod 10 is urged downwardly to remove seal 11 from its seat and the water supply from pipe 8 is thereby opened. In rinsing housing 2 a rod 15 is reciprocably mounted in pipe 14 so that when an inverted glass is pressed down on the rod 15 a valve rod 17 is operated to remove seal 17a from its seat and thus open the fresh water-supply. Pipe 14 is also connected to jet pipe 18 which has orifices 19 through which water flows horizontally across the housing. Water flows out of the housing through outlet 21. The housings 1, 2 which are open at the top, are rigidly connected by bars. In one embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the inner washing brush is fixed, and the rising housing supplies water via pipe 23 to the washing housing.
