Abstract

1448769 Apparatus for washing bed-pans SLOAN VALVE CO 22 May 1974 [23 Oct 1973] 22875/74 Heading A4N [Also in Division El ] A spray-arm 13 for rinsing bed-pans projects through a slot 50 in a horizontal cylinder 31, 32 on the front of a casing 20 mounted in a w.c.'s flushpipe and the arm engages in a valve-member rotatable in the cylinder between an operative position in which the arm is horizontal and aperture 33 in the cylinder and valve-member are aligned to admit water from the flush-pipe and an inoperative position in which the arm is vertical and the apertures are not aligned. The weight of the arm is balanced by a coil-spring, Fig. 5 (not shown). The arm 13 is axially rotatable. The perforated spray head 66 has a close-mesh screen 67 there-behind.
