Abstract

1431422 Machines for cleaning glasses CLENAGLASS ELECTRIC WASHER Ltd 23 Aug 1974 [5 Sept 1973] 41791/73 Heading B8T A machine for cleaning drinking vessels comprises a washing tank on a base and having an open top and containing power driven rotary cleaning brushes projecting upwards from the bottom of the tank, two water inlet passages for connection to hot and cold water supplies respectively and an overflow outlet for water from the tank, the water inlet passages being fitted with electrically operated water inlet valves, preferably solenoid valves, which are incorporated in an electric circuit which includes a device for sensing the temperature of water flowing through the tank so that the valves are alternately operated by a change-over switch to maintain a constant flow of water through the tank at a temperature between two preselected values. The temperature sensing device is a probe projecting into the washing tank or overflow outlet, the probe containing a liquid having a high coefficient of expansion and being connected by a tube to the change-over switch. Detergent is metered into the tank through an outlet between the water inlet passages which have outlets projecting over the edge of the open top of the tank.
