Abstract
1342351 Ventilating and heating or cooling vehicles PRESSED STEEL FISHER Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 April 1970] 18240/70 Heading F4V A motor vehicle heating or cooling and ventilating unit comprises ducts 11, 17 and 18 for recirculation air, untreated fresh air and heated or cooled fresh air respectively leading to a common mixing zone 15, a temperature sensor 25, a heater or cooler 20 controlled by a valve 24 in response to sensor 25, and a duct 16 leading to the interior of the vehicle. Fresh air is drawn into a housing 19 around the heater or cooler 20 and the air flow through ducts 17 and 18 induces air flow through the duct 11. The sensor 25 comprises a spirally wound metal capillary tube. The heat exchanger 20 may be fed with engine coolant water or may form a refrigerant evaporator. Air heated in the housing 19 may pass directly to the vehicle interior in the direction 31.
