1340330 Gas turbine type gas generators C A V Ltd 19 Jan 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 9506/70 Heading F1G A combustion gas generator comprises first and second compressors 14, 15, a combustion chamber 10 in which is mounted a burner 11, and a turbine 12 driven by gases from the combustion chamber and which is connected to drive the compressors. The gases discharging from the turbine at 13 pass to a point of use. The first compressor 14 supplies an air/fuel mixture to the burner 11, and the second compressor 15 supplies dilution air to the combustion chamber. The inlet of the first compressor 14 communicates with a duct 16 in which is disposed an orifice 17 through which fuel is supplied for admixture with air-flowing through the duct. The orifice is connected to a source of fuel the pressure of which can be varied to control the fuel-flow, the size of the duct being such that there is no significant pressure change within the duct throughout the operating range of the gas generator. The orifice 17 communicates with the source of fuel 19 through a regulating means 18 which in the case of gaseous fuel may be an adjustable pressure regulator, and in the case of liquid fuel, a small reservoir the height of which can be varied so as to vary the head of liquid fuel at the orifice 17.
