Abstract
1, 093, 793. Gas turbine engine fuel supply. F.T.C. MA. June 29, 1966 [March 30, 1965], No. 13339/65. Heading F1G. The invention relates to a gas turbine engine in which an ejector type pump energized by air under pressure flowing to the combustion chamber is utilized to draw in gaseous fuel from a source thereof and to deliver it into the air flow. In Fig. 1 air passes from compressor 4 to the nozzle 7 of the ejector pump which comprises a Venturi nozzle 6, the ejector drawing in fuel through line 8 from the source 9, the air and fuel mixture discharging from the Venturi into the combustion chamber 1, the combustion gases discharging to the turbine 2 which may be connected to drive the compressor 4, also a generator 5. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the gaseous fuel is pre-compressed in a compressor 11 driven by the turbine 2 before passing to the ejector.
