Abstract

1339405 Electronic fuel control systems for I.C. engines BENDIX CORP 19 Jan 1972 [25 Jan 19711 2650/72 Heading G1N In an I.C. engine fuel injection system, a lost motion linkage 62 is connected between the throttle control means and the throttle plate 24 in the intake manifold 22, and a signal generator 68 is provided to produce an output signal representative of the throttle control means setting, which signal is utilized to control the supply of fuel, so that during acceleration an increase of fuel is provided before the quantity of intake air increases. As shown in Fig.2, the lost-motion linkage has a slot 72 in which slides a pin 74 attached to a member 66 which is connected directly to the throttle pedal. The linkage is mounted on the same shaft 26 as the throttle plate 24, and resilient means 64 bias the pin 74 to one end of the slot 72. The member 66 is connected to the wiper of a potentiometer 68 acting as the signal generator. An alternative form of linkage is shown in Fig.6. The fuel injection system, Figs.1 and 3 (not shown) includes an acceleration enrichment circuit, Figs.4 and 5 (not shown), and is as described in Specification 1339404.
