Abstract
1287822 Fuel injection systems ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 27 Feb 1970 [28 Feb 1969] 9558/70 Heading G1N [Also in Division F1] In a fuel injection control system, the quantity of fuel injected is determined by the position of a fuel injection pump setting member which is regulated by the position of a rotatable magnet. The position of the magnet 10 is determined by the value of a signal applied to coils 11, 12 surrounding the magnet, the signal being derived from an electronic control circuit in dependence upon the speed of the engine determined by a generator 30, 31, 32, other engine operating parameters, e.g. accelerator pedal position, intake pressure, engine temperature, atmospheric pressure, determined by transducers 44, and the feedback signal of the position of the magnet determined by a transducer 35-39. Rotation of the magnet causes a slider 19 to move on the pump delivery piston 20 which is rotated and reciprocated during engine rotation. Thus, the bores 21 in the piston 20 are opened at an earlier or later instant to vary the delivery quantity. The magnet 10, coils 11, 12, position transducer 35-39, and tachometer 30-32 are mounted within the pump housing, Figs.2 and 3 (not shown), the housing being closed by a cover having on its inner side a printed circuit, Fig.4 (not shown) for making connection with the various components within the housing.
