Abstract

Eyeglasses.-In pince-nez, the lens is secured to the mount by means of a flexible wire 13 auchored, as shown, at one end in grooves 28, 29 in one of the arms 9, 10 attached to a post 4 secured to the bridge. The wire passes round the lens in a peripheral groove 12 to emerge and be held in the post by passing through an opening 22, or openings at an angle to one another, in the body of the post. In Fig. 2, the wire is shown passed through one opening, and kinked at 25 to pass through a second opening 24. Wedge pieces of celluloid &c. may be inserted between the mount and the lens to increase the tension of the wire.
