1337769 Loose-leaf binders C E GRUNDELL 19 April 1971 [23 April 1970] 26346/71 Heading B6E A loose-leaf binder comprises a rigid rear cover member 22, Fig. 2, provided adjacent one edge with slots 40, 42, 44 forming interlocking means for flaps 34, 36, Fig. 1, on a marginal portion 32 articulated to a pliable front cover member 20, the flaps 34, 36 being passed from below through the respective slots and folded towards the spine of the binder, Fig. 3, whereby the flap 36 is then folded over itself, Fig. 6A, to form in conjunction with holes 48, Fig. 1, retaining means for flexible prongs 23 having a T-shaped head 24 which is held captively between the rear face of the rear cover member 22 and the flap 36. The flexible prongs 23 are also passed through holes 46 in the rear cover member 22, Fig. 2. The loose-leaf binder in which the rear cover member may be made of thick cardboard and the front cover member may be made of thin cardboard or a plastics material may also be provided with a plastics pocket 26, Fig. 3, and the front and rear cover members may be held together by a channel 54 which is slid over the members. The loose-leaf binder may also be provided with releasable fastenings 50, 52 for holding the cover members in locked position during storing. In another embodiment the prongs may be provided in the flaps 34 and the channel 54 replaced by rivets (70, Fig. 12), bolts or staples.
