1427335 Filing papers &c ECONOMY FILING CO Ltd 17 Oct 1973 [25 Oct 1972] 49315/72 Heading B6E A binder for a file of marginally perforated sheets comprises a back retaining member having two flexible prongs arranged to pass through two corresponding apertures in the sheets from back to front of the file and through apertures in a front retaining member, the front retaining member having two flexible prongs arranged to pass through two further corresponding apertures in the sheets from front to back and through apertures in the back retaining member. The retaining members and prongs may be integrally formed from plastics and attached, e.g. wire stitched, to a cover. Alternatively, the members may be formed from the cover as shown in Fig. 4, the prongs being provided by laces, of the kind described in Specification 1,290,266. One pair of such laces is.anchored to a front flap of the cover, formed by folding along lines 23, 27, 22, and is then passed through apertures 35 before the flap is stapled, and then passed back through respective apertures 36, through the sheets, and through respective apertures 37 in the back flap. Another pair of laces is anchored and passed through apertures 32 in the back flap, formed by folding along lines 24, 26, 25, the flap is then stapled and the laces passed back through apertures 33 and 34. The free ends of the one pair of laces are finally passed through apertures 33 or additionally provided apertures in the back flap and the free ends of the other pair through apertures 36 or additional apertures in the front flap.
