A document filing folder comprises front and rear cover members having a re-entrant spine part therebetween with slots therein forming hook noses and a separate document holder for securing together adjoining marginal edges of a group of documents, the holder being adapted releasably to engage or disengage the hook noses on the folder spine without releasing the documents from the holder. The folder with covers 1, 2 and re-entrant spine 3 secured by staples 5 has indented folds 4 to allow for documents. The spine 3 has slots 6, 7 forming noses 8, 9 for securing a holder 10 in position. Documents are secured to the holder 10 by a metal strip 11 passed through holes therein spaced apart so that the noses 8, 9 can be passed between the folds of the holder 10 to engage the strip 11. The holder 10 may comprise only a narrow folded strip, or as shown, may be joined by folds 14 to a flap 16 with slots 13 opposite the end holes in the holder so that the flap can be passed over the edge of the documents as in Fig. 5 to protect them and the ends 11a, 11b of the strip 11 passed through the slots 13. The holder 10 and documents may then be filed away by using a suspension bar 19 having slots to pass over the strip 11. The folder document holder 10 and documents may be filed by using a suspension bar 17 having noses 18 which pass into the slots 6, 7 and behind the staples 5 to secure the bar to the spine 3.
