Abstract
1337121 Burner fuel/air mixing assembly AIROIL BURNER CO (GB) Ltd 26 Oct 1971 [30 Nov 1970] 56788/70 Heading F4T In a burner assembly, a fuel nozzle 10 having a plurality of jets 30, preferably at least four, is arranged to discharge fuel into a Venturi 12 so that air will be inspirated into the Venturi. The distance between the fuel-emitting end 31 of the nozzle 10 and the centre 50 of the Venturi throat 14 is within the range of 0.5 to 1-5 Venturi throat diameters d. The inlet portion 40 of the Venturi 12 is a hollow member containing acoustic absorbing material 43 such as fibreglass sandwiched between an inner perforated wall 41 and an outer wall 42. The assembly is intended to reduce the operating noise of a fuel burner, and particularly for use when the fuel is a gas.
