Abstract

1335869 Electro-photography EASTMAN KODAK CO 25 June 1971 [30 June 1970(2)] 29816/71 Heading G2H A layer comprising a diazo compound is successively imagewise exposed and triboelectrically charged, the diazo compound being such that an imagewise electrostatic charge pattern is formed. The triboelectric charging may be by rubbing or cascading. In the latter case, simultaneous charging and developing may take place. The charge pattern or developed image may be transferred. Alternatively, the diazo layer bearing the developed image may form a litho master. The diazo compound may be applied by coating from a solution, which may contain a surface active agent, and may be a salt or resin. A salt may be mixed with a resin or wax. The diazo layer may be on an insulating support. Various diazo materials, e.g. diethylaminobenzene diazonium chlorozincate and the condensation product of formaldehyde with 4- diazo-1, 1'-diphenylamine sulphate-zinc chloride, and other materials are specified.
