Abstract

1335334 Packages with tear strips C R BARD Inc 16 June 1972 [17 June 1971] 28346/72 Heading B8C A wrapper comprises a plurality of sheets 1, 2 of heat-sealable plastics material joined together at their edges, one of the sheets having therein an elongated groove defining one edge of a tear strip 13 and a pull tab 11 secured to the strip for opening the wrapper. As shown, two sheets of vinyl are sealed at the edges to enclose an article and one sheet is formed with a groove 7 terminating in an extension 8 and a groove 9 connected to the extension 8 by a groove 10. The pull tab 11 is spot welded to the sheet between the grooves 8, 9, the arrangement being such that the package so formed may be opened by removal of the strip 13 defined by the grooves 7-10 and the adjacent sealed edges of the sheets.
