Abstract

1335013 Selective printing DSO "IZOT" 18 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 17983/72 Heading B6F A printer capable of printing identical matter on two strips 10, 11 or solely on strip 11 comprises a radially displaceable type wheel 1, a hammer 2 located to cause impression on strip 11, and a platen 13 which can be located as shown, diametrically opposite the hammer, so as to cause impression on the strip 10 by radial displacement of wheel 1 by hammer 2, or displaced so that impression on strip 10 does not occur. The platen 13 comprises a bar mounted on a rotatable bush 3 to which a plate 16 is attached. A spring 17 biases the plate 16 and bush 3 toward the displaced position of the platen 13, an electromagnetically controlled latch opposing the bias. A continuously oscillated lever 14 is provided to return the platen 13 to operative position on each machine cycle by engagement with a projection 25 on plate 16. The type-wheel 1 comprises an outer ring 18 connected to an inner hub (20, Fig. 2, not shown), by a diaphragm (19), the ring 18 and hub (20) being flanged (22, 23) to provide a stop for the ring 18 when the platen 13 is displaced.
