Abstract

1331904 Electro-static printing apparatus OCE-VAN DER GRINTEN N V 11 Feb 1972 [11 Feb 1971] 6533/72 Heading G2H An electro-static copier incorporates a rotatable drum 1, with a roll 2 of photo-sensitive material in its interior and a peripheral slot 3 through which the photo-sensitive material is led about the drum circumference. At each revolution of the drum an image is formed at 7, developed at 8 and transferred to a receiving material 10 at 9. When the photo-sensitive material is to be replaced the drum is stopped and internal rollers 4, 5 and guide 14 pass the free end of the photo-sensitive material to external rollers 12, 13. New photo-sensitive material is drawn through the slot 3 as the used material is conveyed away by the rollers 12, 13, then a knife 15 cuts the material. Alternatively, the rollers 4, 5 may be stopped while the rollers 12, 13 continue to rotate, so that the photosensitive material is torn across, or a knife external to the drum, such as one integral with the guide 14, may be used to cut the material.
