Abstract
1,213,221. Photo-copying apparatus. RICOH K. K. Jan.30, 1968 [Feb.7, 1967], No.4605/68. Heading G2A. In a contact printing apparatus, the original and printing paper move together through an exposure zone, are then separated, the original is then guided out of the apparatus and the printing paper is fed via developing and drying means to a second outlet, the developing means having a transparent liquid reservoir. As shown in the Figure, an original and a diazo type printing paper are superimposed by rollers 11, exposed while moving round a rotating transparent cylinder 1, which encloses a tubular lamp 4 and reflector 5, and guided by a plate 12 to rollers 13, 14 which rotate at different peripheral speeds so that the leading edge of the printing paper engages an arm 17a of a lever 17, which rotates about a spindle 18, so that arm 17b of the lever disengages from a pawl 16b on a separating plate 16, which rotates, feeding the printing paper via guide plates 21a, 21b and rollers 25 across an inclined face 26a of a transparent developer reservoir 26 to developer application rollers 27 and then to a dryer 29 containing a tubular heater 30, the developed paper then being fed by an endless belt 32 out of the apparatus. The original, which does not engage a pawl 16a on the separating plate 16 is fed by a roller 20 past a pivotable guide plate 24 and out of the apparatus or if the plate 24 is pivoted through 90 degrees the original is fed back into the copier for repeat copying. The separating plate may be replaced by a vacuum system or a pair of rollers.
