Abstract
1330811 Electronic fuel-injection systems for I C engines BENDIX CORP 30 May 1972 [30 June 1971] 25295/72 Heading G1N In an I.C. engine intermittent fuel injection system the pump 28 supplying fuel to the injector valves 22 is controllably energized by a circuit 38, Fig.2, which receives a pulse signal from the injection pulse control unit 10 such that the pump is energized with a maximum voltage during each injection pulse, the energizing voltage being gradually decreased in the interval between successive injection pulses. In this manner the average pump energization is proportional to the injection pulse duration and inversely proportional to the time interval between successive pulses. As shown in Fig.2, the pump control circuit includes a capacitor 42 which is charged to a maximum during each injection pulse and discharged gradually between successive pulses, the voltage across capacitor 42 being utilized, through transistor 52, 54 as the pump energizing voltage.
