Abstract
1477365 Automatic control of IC engines ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 11 July 1974 [12 July 1973] 30735/74 Heading G3N The fuel injection pulse to the injectors of an I.C. engine is terminated early if an overspeed condition is detected from a comparison of a speed dependent frequency and a reference 'highest speed' frequency. In the arrangement shown engine speed pulses are supplied to terminal 62 and the reference pulses to terminal 62a and operate D-type bi-stables 167, 170; 172a, 172 to produce respective output pulses from NAND gates 171, 173 with each pulse of the trains having a duration equal to the duration of clockpulses applied to terminal 168. The exclusive OR gate arrangement 98a detects a plurality of consecutive pulses from gate 171 and outputs a signal from AND gate 296 which provides a stop pulse at terminal K of bistable 152. The injector energization is controlled by bi-stable 152 which receives a starting signal from cam contact 150 and an electronic circuit (not shown) at terminal 302 and a termination signal on terminal 301 unless an overspeeding condition exists when the pulse from AND gate 296 terminates the injection early.
