Abstract

1316864 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 26 June 1970 [27 June 1969] 31057/70 Heading G3P The injection timing of an internal combustion engine fitted with an electronically controlled fuel injection pump is controlled by a system comprising an electromagnetically actuated valve 10 for varying the pressure applied to an injection timing device 21 by an engine-driven feed-pump 18. An armature 13 varies the loading applied by a spring 11 to the control member 12 of the valve in accordance with the energizing current from a device 34 which also controls the injection pump through an output 36. The device 34 receives data representative of the load on the engine as well as an output signal from a position transducer 40 operated through a lever 25 from the device 21. Pressure applied to a piston 22 of the device is normally varied by the valve 10 which regulates the flow in a by-pass circuit for the pump. Rapid increases in pressure are, however, applied without delay through a check valve 20 while the effect of rapid decreases is delayed by a throttle 19. Leakage past the piston 22 is returned to the pump through a line 16.
