Abstract
1328726 Bayonet-fitting spindle mountings BARMAG BARMER MASCHINEN-PABRIK AG 19 April 1971 [2 March 1970] 22842/71 Heading DID [Also in Division E2] In a twisting machine a bearing box 2 carrying a coaxially mounted spindle (not shown, e.g. a double-twist spindle, is secured to a carrier by a releasable fastening requiring less than 360 of rotation of the bearing box relatively to the carrier. As shown, a ring 11 surrounding an opening in the carrier has inwardly projecting springs 13 with depressions terminating in stops 15, and the bearing box has a corresponding number of recesses 18 provided with pins or dogs 19 which, on partial rotation of the box after its insertion into the opening, engage the depressions. To reduce transmission of vibration and noise a resilient ring (not shown) is interposed between the ring 11 and the carrier, and a flange 17 on the bearing box rests on this resilient ring. An electrical circuit for the spindle drive or for auxiliary electrical or electromagnetic units in the spindle is made and broken by sliding contacts 28 in the flange 17. In a modification, a ring having rigid arcuate projections with inclined abutment surfaces replaces the ring 11, and the bearing box is provided with mating arcuate projections.
