Abstract

1328576 Laminates OASIS VACUUM GLAZING Ltd 16 Nov 1971 53023/71 Heading B5N [Also in Division El] A window comprises two span panes 10, 11 spaced by a plastics sheet 12 with protuberances 13 on opposite sides and a through hole (16), means 14 sealing the edges of the panes and sheet, and the evacuated space between the panes being sealed by a plug 17 in pane 11. The protuberances 13 are integral with the sheet or secured by adhesive and are circular (Fig. 2) or linear (Fig. 4). The plug may incorporate a diaphragm switch which opens on loss of vacuum due to breakage of the glass and actuates an alarm. A bullet resistant window (Fig. 5) includes such an alarm window (60) in front of a plastics sheet (62) and a laminated glass pane (61).
