Abstract

1,108,593. Intruder alarms. OASIS TECHNICAL INVESTMENTS Ltd. 26 April, 1965 [13 Feb., 1964; 21 Feb., 1964], Nos. 6095/64. and 7367/64. Heading G4N. [Also in Division E1] An intruder alarm comprises a double glazing unit, Fig. 3 (see Division E1 ) and a switch device operating on the differential pressure principle and comprises a hollow stud 17 which fits into the hole 15 of the unit, Fig. 3, and is sealed therein by a band 18 of adhesive, and a diaphragm 22 provided with a central annular contact 32 to contact with the surround of the stud 17. A vent 26 puts the space above the diaphragm in communication with the external atmosphere and the space under the diaphragm is in communication with the evacuated space between the panes 10, 11, the contact 22, 17 is closed and is arranged in an alarm circuit 28, 29 so that when the partial vacuum between the panes is destroyed the contact 22, 17 opens and initiates the operation of the alarm.
