Abstract
1328003 Extruding SCHLOEMANN AG 19 April 1971 [20 Feb 1970] 21839/71 Heaidng B3P An extension press ram 8 is fixed to a movable crosshead 4 by using a retainer ring 10 with a polygonal opening through which a shoulder 14 on the rear of the ram can be passed and the ram rotated to engage the shoulder behind the ring. The shoulder is conical with flats to give it a polygonal cross-section, e.g. square or triangular. The ring is biased away from the crosshead by springs 15 and clamped to the ram after its rotation by nuts and bolts 11, 12. A series of abutment bars 19 serve to space the crosshead 4 from the container 18. The crosshead 4 slides on inclined guides (5), (6), Fig. 1 (not shown).
