1327059 Rollers BELOIT CORP 4 Sept 1970 42495/70 Heading F2U A roll comprises a core 10 (e.g. of iron or steel) surrounded by an elastomeric layer 12 (e.g. with voids) in turn surrounded with a non-woven mat 14 (e.g. of paper, cotton, or sisal or asbestos fibres, or nylon, acrylic, polyester, polyolefin, rayon or cellulose acetate fibres) bonded with a thermo setting synthetic resin (e.g. polyester, phenolic, melamine epoxy, acrylic, &c.). The roll may have grooves, e.g. circumferential. Preferred ranges of groove depth, width and pitch are listed. The layer 12 may be of natural or synthetic rubber (various examples listed or of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane, &c.
