Abstract

1325009 Spreaders for handling containers RUBERY OWEN & CO Ltd 20 April 1971 [21 April 1970] 18904/70 Heading B8H [Also in Division E2] A projecting boom 1 (which may be extended from a spreader frame, not shown) has a tube 5 further projecting from its end to support an appropriately apertured transverse beam 9, slots 6, 8 in the tube and in a cap 7 weld into its end, accommodating a key 11 which is securable to the beam by screws 13 and abutments 12. The slots are large enough to allow some rotational play of the key and therefore of the beam, but this is restrained by an upstanding tongue engaging buffers 18 on the boom. The beam has twist-lock fasteners at its ends for lifting.
