Abstract

1323215 Papermaking HUYCK CORP 9 Nov 1971 [23 Nov 1970] 52092/71 Heading D2A A foil 10 for engaging a wire 26 of a papermaking machine has a top surface 14 and a trailing surface 18, the latter being formed at least in part by a wear-resistant insert 22 disposed adjacent to but forming no part of the top surface 14. The insert 22 may be of a ceramic material or tungsten carbide and the body of the foil of high-density polyethylene. The wire 26 may be of synthetic fibre material. Foils having inserts of different cross-sectional shapes are disclosed, Figs. 4A..4C (not shown).
