1322190 Dyeing apparatus F RIGACCI 8 Dec 1970 [23 Dec 1969] 58138/70 Heading D1L A yarn dyeing plant comprises a conveyor for receiving the yarn, means for applying a coloured dye to the yarn, means for applying a second coloured dye to the yarn, means for fixing the dyes by raising the temperature means for washing the yarn whilst in motion on the conveyor, and means for drying the yarn. As shown a conveyor 1 is loaded with yarn by means of endless web 11 and carried to dyeing zone A where dye is applied through tubes 17 which are raised and lowered in cyclic fashion, the structure being such that eccentrics 25 and connecting reels 21 cause the tubes 17 to press down on the material and accompany it forwards on the downstroke but do not contact the material on the return stroke. This produces a flammÚ dyed effect. After dyeing, the dye is fixed by heating in steam chamber 7 and the fixed dye washed in region C by liquor supplied from nozzles 35, the liquor being worked in and out of the yarn by squeezers 27, operating in a fashion similar to that of dyeing tubes 17, in conjunction with support surface 33; both squeezers 27 and support 33 being perforated. After washing the yarn is dried in oven D.
