Abstract

Apparatus for dyeing and otherwise treating e.g. fixing articles such as stockings on forms, comprises a sealed chamber which is pressurized and heated by injected steam, and a liquor re-circulating pump connected to a heater and distributer for the liquor. In operation, the dye liquor which may include a brightening, dressing, or washing agent is heated to above 100 DEG C. and is pumped to the distributer at the top of the chamber from which it flows down over the articles. The steam may be injected into the chamber before, during, or shortly after the introduction of the liquor.
