Abstract

1321112 Electric couplings F R BONHOMME 16 Nov 1970 [19 Nov 1969] 54486/70 Heading H2E An electrical connector for cables, particularly of small diameter, comprises a housing 3 accommodating a rotatable member 2 of beryllium-copper which is provided with a gripping surface 4, a spring portion 18 and a lever 12 whereby the spring urges the member 2 against the inserted cable 6 to facilitate electrical connection between the cable 6 and the conductor 17. The housing may accommodate several members 2 in a superposed position or in a further embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) accommodate two members in a displaced position connected by a flexible strip 18 for clamping connection of two cables. In a further embodiment (Fig. 5) a single member 2b is provided with two clamping surfaces for the connection of two cables 6b. A strip 27 is used to facilitate insertion and removal of conductors. The member 2 may be formed by cutting, stamping, pressing or moulding. The housing is formed of moulded plastics. The pivoting may be facilitated by circular projections and hollows, as illustrated, or by an angular portion rockably mounted in an angular hollow.
