1320864 Vented closure members PLYSU Ltd 17 March 1972 [22 March 1971] 7483/71 Addition to 1171252 Heading B8T A vented closure device comprises: a resilient sealing member consisting of a disc 2b and a sleeve 2a; a spigot 3 formed of rigid plastics material with grooves 3c; a cup shaped venting member 5 of rigid plastics material engaging the inner end 3b of the spigot; and a conical venting member 5, also of rigid plastics material, engaging the outer end 3a of the spigot, with its outer edge pressing against the top of the cap 1. Gases generated within the container pass through holes 5a and into groove 3c. By forcing part of the sleeve 2a outward, they are then free to escape to the atmosphere via holes 4a.
