Abstract

1319777 Pulse generators AEC ELECTRIC FENCING Ltd 19 June 1970 [5 Aug 1969] 39165/69 Heading H3T A pulse generator, e.g. for an electric fence, comprises a capacitor C1 which is periodically discharged into the primary of an output transformer T2 by a semi-conductor switch (thyristor TH) triggered by a timing circuit having a separate capacitor C2 and a Zener diode D2 to stabilize its supply voltage. C2 is charged via a resistor R3 until a trigger diode D3 becomes conductive to discharge it into the trigger of TH, which is turned off by the back e.m.f. of T2; a diode D4 protects the thyristor in this respect. The generator is supplied from a battery or, as shown, from A.C. mains on a transformer T1 rectified by diode D1. Neons N1, N2 indicate the supply and charging of C1 respectively.
