Abstract

1319713 Concrete floor joist INGENJORSFIRMAN NILCON AB 22 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 10682/71 Heading E1W A concrete floor and ceiling joist comprises an open-topped concrete box-like lower portion 1 surmounted by a concrete cover plate 1 with intermediate apertured layers 4, there being a heat insulating slab 6 in the central cavity, supported above the base of the lower portion, which has one or more apertures 9, 10 therethrough. The slab 6 may rest on spacers 8 of plastics, cork; wood &c, and may itself be formed of mineral wool. The horizontal sectional area of the spacers should be 10%, or at least less than 20% of the cavity area, and the gap 7 between the slab 6 and the base at least 1 cm., and preferably at least 3 cm.
