Abstract

1318111 Reactive dyestuff compositions IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [9 Jan 1970 2 March 1970] 1136/70 and 9839/70 Heading D1B Dyestuff compositions of improved water solubility comprise a water-soluble reactive dyestuff in the form of its sodium salt in admixture with a lithium salt having a solubility in water of at least 10% by weight at 25‹C. The lithium salts include salts of inorganic or organic carboxylic acids and preferably lithium sulphate. They are prepared by mixing an aqueous solution or suspension of the sodium salt of the water-soluble reactive dye-stuff with an aqueous solution of the lithium salt and drying the resultant mixture, e.g. in trays or by spray-drying. The compositions may contain a stabilising amount of urea. The examples describe compositions containing monoazo applied to mercerised cotton and compositions containing anthraquinone dyestuffs.
