Abstract

1507088 Acid dyestuff compositions HOECHST AG 11 Dec 1975 [11 Dec 1974] 50905/75 Heading D1B Aqueous concentrated (i.e. at least 7% by weight) solutions of dyes having at least one sulphonic acid group in the form of the free acid and/or a salt thereof contain at least 8% by weight of #-caprolactam. The dyes may be in the form of an alkali metal or ammonium salt and preferably has 1 to 3 sulphonic acid groups. Preferred compositions contain 10 to 80% by weight of dyestuff having 1 to 3 sulphonic acid groups, 10 to 82% by weight of water and 8 to 80% by weight of #-caprolactam. The dyes may be azo, anthraquinone, nitro, or triphenylmethane. Conventional processes for making the compositions are employed. Polyamides and paper materials are dyed using the above compositions.
