1315838 Air heating stoves WILKINS & MITCHELL Ltd 29 Oct 1971 [29 Oct 1970] 51401/70 Heading F4S In a space heater adapted to heat two separate spaces and comprising a heat exchanger 10 mounted within an inner casing 11 in turn mounted within an outer casing 15, air to be heated drawn through an inlet 20 in 'the outer casing 15, by'means of a cross-flow fan 18, is passed downwardly through first and second passages 21 and 22 on opposite sides of the heat exchanger. The first passage 21 terminates in an outlet 23 closable by a pivotally mounted flap 24 spring-loaded to its closed position. The outlet 23 leads into a rectangular duct 28 releasably secured to the outer casing 15. A grille 45 covers the end of an extension 43 of duct 28. A burner is provided in the lower part of the heat exchanger 10. The second passage 22 terminates in an outlet 26 which communicates with an outlet 27 in the front wall of the outer casing 16. When the flap 24 is closed all the heated air exits through outlets 26 and 27 into a first space. When the flap is opened by means of an actuating member 35 in the form of a pivotally mounted wire loop operated by a lever 51 on the grille 45, some of the heated air passes through ducts 28 and 43 to exit via the grille 45 into a second space. The actuating member 35 is connected to the lever 51 by way of a flexible cable (see Fig. 4, not shown).
