Abstract

131,401. Soc. Anon. des Anciens Etablissements Hotchkiss et Cie. Sept. 26, 1917, [Convention date]. Machine guns. - Relates to extractors of the kind described in Specification 25383/12, in which the extractor is freely mounted in the breechblock and is held in place by a coiled spring which constantly presses it forwards against an inclined surface on the breech-block, and consists in forming the extractor with a, longitudinal cavity to receive the spring. The invention is shown applied to a gas-operated gun having a tilting and sliding breech-block as described in Specification 127.653. The extractor c is formed with a cavity to receive the spring c<1>. A notch c<5> in the extractor enables the spring to be acted upon by a suitable tool in assembling and disassembling the parts.
