1313800 Steam pressure chamber SANDO IRON WORKS CO Ltd 24 June 1970 [24 June 1969 20 Sept 1969 22 Sept 1969 1 Nov 1969 20 Nov 1969] 30752/70 Heading D1L A steam pressure chamber for the treatment of textiles has a security device at an inlet and an outlet, each security device comprising a pair of first idlers mounted one on each side of the inlet or outlet and in sealing contact therewith, and a pair of pressure sealing nip rollers each of which is adapted to run on one of said first rollers. In the figure, cloth 7 passes between nip rollers 6 and through a slit-shaped aperture between rollers 5 to the space beneath a protective hood 10 which prevents leakage of drained fluid on to the cloth. Dancer rolls 11, 15 and guide rolls 12 guide the cloth through the chamber to the hood 10' and rollers at the outlet. Fluid operated actuating means (not shown), operable to open the security device are provided at the inlet and outlet, and safety devices may be provided to prevent the security devices from being actuated unless the pressure within the chamber is atmospheric, to depressurise the chamber if the security devices fail, and to cover an inspection window if the inner window plate is damaged. A shower washing device for the nip rollers may also be installed at the inlet and outlet.
