1309407 Container closures EMBALLAGES COURONNE SA CROWN CORKE CO (FRANCE) 19 May 1970 [11 Sept 1969] 34900/72 Divided out of 1309406 Heading B8T A threaded closure cap or a cap in unthreaded blank form comprises a top portion F, a substantially cylindrical skirt J and a connecting zone (5<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 5 (not shown), extending between the top and skirt, the zone being of part circular profile, a sealing member 3<SP>1</SP>, e.g. of thermosetting synthetic material being formed, e.g. by a punch (P), Fig. 4 (not shown), in the connecting zone and dimensional to seal against only the external cylindrical face of a container neck. The cap may be of aluminium alloy or tin plate, the connecting zone being deformed by a tool 13<SP>1</SP> when in position on the container, the skirt being crimped on to the threaded neck by another tool (not shown). A thin layer 9<SP>1</SP> of sealing material may protect the top portion. A tamperproof strip (7<SP>1</SP>) may be provided. (For Figure see next column.)
