Abstract
130,831. Armstrong, F. G. G. Sept. 21, 1918. Centrifugal governors; transmitting-mechanism. -A governor for the engines of motor-tractors &c. comprises a hollow pulley B mounted on the end of the crank-shaft and having a long boss B' on which is slidably mounted a sleeve F provided with two annular recesses f, f<1>. Two weights D, D', shaped to conform to its periphery, are pivoted in the pulley and have arms d extending towards the axis of the pulley and. engaging the groove f<1>. The other groove f is engaged by a flange g on a two-part annular strap G on the sleeve. The strap G has a projection connected by linkwork k<1>, k<2>, M to. one end of a bell-crank lever J, the other end of which is connected to the throttle valve. The two weights are connected .by springs E. The end of the boss B' may have claws b to engage claws on the turning crank P. The pulley B may be used for driving the fan of the engine.
